 After
the pick-ups are finished the coach will drive on to
Katastari where the first stop will be made at the Photo-stop
for the panoramic view of the salts flats of Alykes.
Continue on to St. Nicholas where small boats are organized
for a visit to the “Blue Caves”. After the visit carry
on to Volimes for a shopping stop. Volimes is famous
for all its handicrafts, rugs, flokatis, tablecloths,
and lace-work. Then a short stop at the balcony to view
the shipwreck from above and take photographs. |

Lunch in Anafonitria and a quick look in the monastery
of St. Dennis. After lunch continue through the village
of Maries, the village where Mary Magdalene preached Christianity
for the first time, Exo - chora, see the oldest olive
tree on the island, St. Leon see the bell tower built
on top of a windmill, Kiliomeno view the bell tower with
the symbols of the masons and the next stop at Macherado
for a visit to the church of the “Black Saint. Lastly,
a visit to a winery in the Vanato area for a taste of
the excellent Zakynthian wines. |
| One day tour to Kefalonia |
 Early
morning drive to Aghios Nicholas to catch the ferryboat
to Pessada. Enjoy a one and a half hour boat ride with
the local ferryboat and get the chance to see the Dolphins!
On arrival in Pessada the coach will continue to the
monastery of Aghios Gerasimos, who is also the patron
saint of the island. See the cave where he spent six
years praying and meditating. Then on to the Drogarati
caves where you will see the most impressive stalactites
and stalagmites. The cave is large enough to hold five
hundred people and concerts are held here in the summer
time because of its natural setting. See also the Royal
balcony where the orchestra plays. Maria Callas and
Pavarotti have sung here! Then on to the nearby Melissani
cave and lake.It is said that there was no water in
the cave prior to an earthquake,

then
filled up and giving the cave more beauty as the sun filters
in and picks up the colours of the water on the walls.
After the boat ride around the cave a chance to shop in
the gift shop and then on to Aghia Efimia for lunch and
a quick swim. After lunch a photo-stop at Metros Bay,
the water is a mass of turquoise and an indescribably
blue the colour of the water has to be seen, to be believed!
Continue along the coastline with its steep cliffs, beautiful
shrubbery, and small coves to Argostoli, the capital of
the island. On arrival the coach will stop in the main
square where you can taste the best ice cream in Kefalonia
and have a walk around until its time to leave again for
Pessada to catch the ferryboat back to Zakynthos |
 Early
morning departure with the ferry boat to Killini, the
mainland and the coach will drive for 50 minutes to
take you to one of the most exciting sites on the Peloponnese!
On arrival the local guide will be waiting to take you
around this amazing site. The setting of the site is
remarkably beautiful, a valley between the twin rivers,
Alfios and Kladhios. Here you will see one of the Seven
Wonders of the World, the Temple of Zeus, almost as
big as the Parthenon where the elephantine and gold
statue of Zeus was housed. See the Temple of Hera where
the Olympic flame is lit and the most complete building
on the site. Walk through the arched corridor into the
original stadium of the Olympic Games, a 200meter track
where 20,000 spectators used to sit.

The starting
and finishing lines and judge’s thrones are still there.
After the lecture from the guide, time will be given for
photographs and to browse on your own and maybe to run
on the Olympic track!
The guide will then meet you at the archaeological Museum,
which nestles in the trees housing the marvels that were
found on the site. The two most famous pieces are the
Head of Hera and the full size statue of Hermes of Praxiteles.
See the pediment of Zeus presiding over a chariot race
and the Battle of Lapiths and Centaurs, a fantastic frieze
of the Twelve Labours of Hercules.
After the visits, lunch in the Olympic village of Olympia
and time for shopping. Late afternoon return to Killini
to catch the ferryboat back to Zakynthos. |
| One night / two days
day Athens |
 Depart
early morning from the port of Zakynthos with the ferryboat
to Killini. On arrival drive along the Peloponnesian
coastline via Patra and the first will be a rest stop
at Egio. Continue on to Corinth where the coach will
cross over the Corinth Canal and stop for a photo-stop.
The canal is an amazing piece of engineering, originally
thought up by the King of Corinth and by Alexander the
Great, but it was Nero who actually turned the first
soil with a golden spade. The works were abandoned by
Nero due to rioting in Rome and were never finished
until the late 18th century by a French Engineering
company.Arrive in Athens and check into the hotel. Here
you have the opportunity of lazing by the pool or going
for a walk in the Plaka. In the evening the guide will
have arranged an optional dinner for you with tasty
Greek mezes and traditional Greek food. |

The following
morning, early departure for the sightseeing of Athens
with a professional guide. The coach will first take you
around the Athens centre, viewing the University of Athens,
the Library and the Academy all built in neo classic style.
Then on to the Parthenon where you will spend one and
half-hours with the guide seeing the wonders of ancient
Greece. Time will be given for photographs and browsing
alone. After the Parthenon, the coach will then take you
to the Olympic stadium which was rebuilt for the revival
of the Olympic Games in 1896, from there, on to the Royal
Palace to see the changing of the guards. These are the
Royal Guards wearing the traditional costume! Then free
time on your own to browse through the Plaka and Monasteraki
areas to shop and have lunch.
After lunch drive directly back to Killini again via Patra
for the ferryboat back to Zakynthos. |
